Hakushu 12 Year Old
Hakushu 12 Year Old Bottling Note
This wonderful peated Japanese single malt whisky hails from Hakushu distillery, owned by Suntory. The distillery resides in the forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake, with the original Hakushu distillery built in 1973. Another building was added in 1981, called Hakushu Higashi. Rather fittingly, it boasts a fresh and foresty flavour profile.
Kamiki Finish Casks
Kamiki has a light copper look in the glass. The scent smacks of straw, with light notes of cookie dough and sandalwood. The flavor rolls forward on a spicy foundation of sandalwood and allspice, accented by sweet tobacco leaf and honey. The sandalwood note fades so fast on the finish that it can scarcely be said to be there.

Matsui Mizunara Cask
Kurayoshi lies in the foothills of Mt. Daisen and has a fine water that is indispensable for whisky distilling. Kurayoshi, called that "Life is good" is the origin of the word, but the annual temperature range in the Sea of Japan side is large, and the aging of whisky also advances quickly compared to the Scottish Islay region.
